Glass Partitions

See the quiet.

The corner office needs privacy. The boardroom cannot leak a word. The client lounge should put visitors at ease the moment they sit down. And the open plan keeps changing shape as the team grows. Four different briefs, one answer: a glass partition system engineered to professional standards.

Applied Spaces is the sole Taiwan agent for Optima, the British acoustic glass partition system. Built on a modular, systemised design, Optima partitions are installed with dry-jointed glazing: fast on site, dust-free, and finished in a fraction of the usual programme. More importantly, the entire system is demountable. Partitions can be taken down, relocated and reconfigured without touching the building's primary structure or CAT-A works such as raised floors and ceilings.

So when your organisation expands, relocates or restructures, the partitions move with you. Not a fit-out you demolish and discard, but an asset you carry forward. Every system in the range is performance-tested at UKAS-accredited laboratories, with acoustic ratings up to Rw 52dB. Full daylight, genuine quiet, in the same wall.

[ FAQ ]

How is an Optima partition project priced? Is there a rate per ping?+

There is no fixed per-ping rate, because no two projects carry the same specification. Cost is driven by the acoustic rating you need, the door types selected, the scope of the layout and the total floor area involved. The most reliable way to budget is to share your floor area, plan drawings and requirements with our consultants, who will assess the project and prepare a tailored quotation.

Where can Optima glass partitions be used?+

Far beyond executive offices and meeting rooms. Optima systems are used for focus rooms and phone booths in open-plan areas, libraries and reading rooms, lobbies and client meeting spaces in commercial buildings, and residential settings such as music rooms and studies. Any space that needs to be zoned without being sealed off is a candidate.

Can glass really insulate sound? Isn't it worse than stud or timber partitions?+

No, and this is a common misconception. A well-engineered glass partition system can outperform stud and timber walls. What matters is whether the acoustic figures are backed by UKAS-certified laboratory testing. Optima tests at real installed size, not scaled-down samples, achieving full-size ratings of Rw 34 to 52dB. Elite glass doors achieve Rw 39 to 45dB, and sliding doors Rw 39dB.

Glass is transparent. What about privacy?+

Privacy is set room by room, not sacrificed. Options include sandblasted and applied films, decorative manifestation bands, integrated blinds and switchable smart glass. Open areas stay bright and transparent while meeting rooms and executive offices become fully screened, and with certified acoustic performance behind the glass, visual and acoustic privacy arrive together. What you get is adjustable transparency, never all or nothing.

If we relocate or restructure, can the partitions be reused?+

Yes. This is the core of Optima's design. Glass-to-glass dry joints and a modular frame mean the system demounts without damaging the primary structure or CAT-A works. When you relocate, expand or reorganise, the partitions come down, move with you and are reconfigured to the new floor plan. It is a spatial asset that travels with the business.

From fixed acoustic glass partitions to instantly reconfigurable movable walls, and from first consultation through planning, design, installation and aftercare, Applied Spaces brings it all together in one place: a true Total Solution for your space.
