Optima 117 Plus is a timelessly elegant single glazed partition system which can be used to make beautiful private rooms out of open spaces. Minimal head and base channels and discreet glass to glass dry joints create the illusion of vast areas of unsupported glass.
Head Condition
The incorporation of extruded aluminium deflection heads makes the system an ideal solution for the modern office building, where high levels of deflection are common. Both inner and outer deflection heads are available, to suit your design intent, and can accommodate up to +/-25 mm or +/-40 mm deflection. If there is no deflection required, a simple 25 mm extruded aluminium head channel is all that is required.
Base Condition
The aluminium base channel can either be 25 mm or 50 mm deep, depending upon how minimal you want the perimeter framing to be. Where deflection is required, the base channel is 36 mm wide to align with the deflection head channel, but if there is no deflection the base channel is just 25 mm wide.
Panel Dimensions
Optima 117 Plus single glazing can accommodate glass panels up to 1500 mm wide, subject to height, configuration, and site logistics.
Interpanel Joints
The use of dry-glaze gaskets in Optima 117 Plus single glazing makes it quick and easy to install, without compromising on durability, aesthetics or acoustic performance. A number of discreet glass to glass dry joints are available, including clear PETG, flush aluminium and taped.
Acoustics
Optima 117 Plus single glazing can accommodate a variety of glass thicknesses to suit the acoustic rating that you need to achieve. As with all of our products, the system is laboratory tested for acoustic performance in a UKAS accredited laboratory and full test reports are available upon request. Optima 117 Plus single glazing can achieve Rw 33 dB with 12 mm toughened glass and up to Rw 40 dB with 16.8 mm acoustic laminated glass. The acoustic test is conducted on a full height, multi-module screen with glazing joints and perimeter track-work; not simply a ‘window’ in a smaller sized opening. Testing samples using the latter method will generally give an artificially higher acoustic rating result and any results obtained in this way should be treated with great caution.
Doors
Optima 117 Plus single glazing has a stylish integral door frame, enabling a flush fit with either timber door leaves or Optima’s exclusive range of glazed doors; available with a variety of head details which can accommodate up to +/- 40 mm deflection.

Frequently asked questions
What is the highest acoustic rating Optima 117 Plus can achieve?
It reaches Rw 33 dB with 12 mm toughened glass and up to Rw 40 dB with 16.8 mm acoustic laminated glass.
Which spaces is Optima 117 Plus suited to?
Meeting rooms, huddle rooms and private offices within open plan space. For spaces that need the highest acoustic rating, we recommend Revolution 100, which reaches up to Rw 52 dB double glazed.
Which doors can it take?
The integral door frame accepts timber doors or Optima glazed doors and sits flush with the partition. Kinetic Align sliding glazed doors are also available.
Floor slabs deflect slightly under load. Can the partition accommodate this?
Yes. Deflection heads absorb up to ±25 mm or ±40 mm of vertical movement, with internal and external options.
Can the partitions be reused after a refit or move?
Yes. Optima 117 Plus is a dry jointed system that can be demounted and reinstalled elsewhere, with framing made from low-carbon recycled aluminium.
Can I request full technical specifications?
Yes. We can provide the complete manufacturer specification, covering glazing configurations, acoustic data and finishing details.
