Designing for Change: Creating Healthier, More Flexible, and More Sustainable Workspaces

As climate change and resource depletion become increasingly urgent issues, businesses and the design industry are actively seeking low-carbon, low-impact, and long-lasting spatial solutions. Optima has long focused on developing modular, reusable partition systems, committed to meeting the highest standards of health, safety, and sustainability through careful material selection and responsible construction practices.

We utilize Ghost dry joint technology to enable quick and clean installation and dismantling, free of silicone, adhesive residue, or glass damage. This allows for full system disassembly and reuse, achieving truly flexible adjustments and low-impact construction. Our solid partitions are made with VOC A+ certified powder-coated steel panels and Hydro CIRCAL aluminium, which contains 75% post-consumer recycled content, significantly reducing chemical emissions and carbon footprint in support of green building standards.

Optima partitions are especially well-suited for modern workspaces seeking ESG, WELL, or LEED certification, including global brand headquarters, multinational corporations, and flexible offices. They help reduce the cost and waste of repeated renovations, offering a sustainable, long-term spatial solution.

Junhong’s system partitions are the ideal partner for companies committed to sustainability and workspace evolution.

IWC operable walls replace reconfiguration with stacking. One space divides and reopens as required, removing the demolition and rebuilding that changing a layout otherwise involves. Replacing single use fit out with components that carry over is the most direct way to cut long term construction waste.

Extending service life is what reduces impact

The environmental cost of a partition comes mainly from early demolition, not from manufacture. A reusable system extends actual service life, and at relocation or reorganisation dismantling and rebuilding replaces rebuilding from scratch, which directly cuts construction waste and demand for new material.

For a business pursuing ESG or green building certification, the partition specification shows up in the material and waste accounting. Which items can be claimed depends on the certification system and the project, and we can provide manufacturer documentation and specification data for a submission.
